To New Beginnings

2nd Place Winner in the American Prize for Composition, High School Division

To New Beginnings was originally written as an expression of the excitement the world felt when it was able to return to normal again after the lock-downs caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. But no matter what new beginning, To New Beginnings captures the feelings of excitement, joy, and hope that is felt, and it is a reminder of the time before the start of a new chapter in life, big or small. Whatever transitions are taking place in life, personally or with the entire world, it is an opportunity to start looking forward to everything positive in the new beginning.

To New Beginnings was a finalist in the 1st Annual Grand Mesa Publications Band Composition and Arranging Contest, winner of the first annual Heidelberg University Call for Scores, and won 2nd place in the American Prize for composition.
