Fill in the Blank No. 4

Andy, a trumpet player in my hometown's community band, told me for years I should write a march. I finally bit the bullet and decided to study some Sousa scores and write my own little march for band. I'm actually very proud of the results. I still need to send this to Andy and see what he thinks...

Titles can be beautiful, poetic words that create a special meaning to the music. A title can inspire the audience's imagination as they listen to the piece. But what if the composer or songwriter gave a piece a title that was uninspiring and/or it felt cliched? Can a title ruin or degrade the performers' or the audience's connection to the music?

So, instead of giving these pieces of music some random, cliched, or disconnecting title, I'm allowing you/your ensemble to name it yourself. Have fun. Be creative. Turn these pieces into something that makes the music personal to you, your ensemble members, your audience, or the entire world.

These pieces are meant to be flexible. Think something should be a solo instead of unison? Change it! Want to add articulations? Do it! Who am I kidding anyway, you don't need my permission, you would have changed it anyway!

Let me know what you are titling this piece HERE
